MEET THE HUMAN BEHIND THE CAMERA

LGBTQ+ Colorado Photographer walking across rainbow crosswalk in Denver

I'm an award-winning photographer, photojournalist, and founder of Wild Queer Free, an LGBTQ+ focused photography brand serving Colorado couples, families, small businesses, and adventurous humans.

For more than 15 years, I've documented real people and real stories through photography. From 2016–2019, I created Inside the Black Triangle, an LGBTQ+ photojournalist project dedicated to amplifying queer voices, identities, and experiences through visual storytelling.

Today, I bring that same documentary approach to photographing LGBTQ+ couples, queer families, adventurous elopements, and inclusive businesses across Colorado.

Whether we're documenting an engagement in Denver, an elopement in the Rocky Mountains, a family session in Boulder, or branding photos for an LGBTQ+-owned business, my goal is to create images that feel authentic, connected, and true to who you are.

THE ADVENTURE SO FAR…

Photography has taken me all over the world and introduced me to some incredible people, places, and experiences.

I've heli-skied remote mountains, surfed warm Pacific waves, run marathons, photographed stories across communities, and spent countless days exploring trails with a camera in hand. I'm happiest outside—hiking, biking, skiing, surfing, chasing good light, and finding new adventures.

Life hasn't always followed the path I expected, though.

After building a photography business and life on Maui, I survived the Lahaina wildfire and lost both my home and business. That experience eventually brought me back to my home state of Colorado, where I began rebuilding, reconnecting with community, and creating a new chapter.

It also reminded me how important people are. The relationships we build, the moments we share, and the memories we create are often what matter most.

Beyond photography, I also work as a practicing psychotherapist, which has deepened my understanding of relationships, identity, resilience, and what helps people feel safe enough to be themselves.

Whether I'm behind a camera or creating a safe space for a therapy client, my work is rooted in curiosity, connection, and helping people feel seen.

And despite all the serious-sounding work, I'm pretty goofy.

I firmly believe that being photographed should be fun, not stressful. You don't need to know how to pose, act a certain way, or be "good" in front of a camera. My job is to help people relax, laugh, and feel comfortable enough to show up as themselves. Some of my favorite photos happen in the in-between moments—the awkward laughs, inside jokes, and unplanned moments that make people who they are.

These days you'll usually find me adventuring with my partner and our dogs, planning my next trip, exploring Colorado's trails, or enjoying a slow morning with coffee and waffles before the day begins.

Wild Queer Free was built on the belief that love, identity, adventure, and community are worth celebrating—and that everyone deserves photographs that feel like home.
